Each of them can be developed together or separately by various exercises, primarily though via meditation.
The sense which is most relevant to experiencing light bulb moments is claircogniscence. This is where you not only get access to information you weren’t previously aware of, but you also know it is the right course of action for you.
That said, if you are a musician or an actor, you may favor clairaudience. A painter will have stronger clairvoyance. A parfumier will be able to invent smells in their mind through a strong clairolfactory sense. A chef, or gourmand, is able to imagine tastes using their clairgustatory organs of perception.
You have probably experienced a time when you are in the flow. Perhaps you have a run of luck with gambling, or clients, referrals and opportunities just appear from nowhere. This is when your claircogniscence is at work.
The converse is when things just don’t go your way. Nothing works, nothings sticks, problems are insurmountable. Your flavors of thought turn to reflectivity, inner criticism, frustration and even anger.
Now, is the cart before the horse or the tail wagging the dog? As Iain McGilchrist puts in his book, who exactly is in charge, The Master or his Emissary?
Quite simply, to change your world, you just have to change your way of thinking and the flavor of your thoughts. By doing this, you can be in the mode that light bulb moments are the norm and not random.
Looking back at the previous chapters now, you will see how the first part of this book guides you towards this point.
First we looked at what a light bulb moment is and what stops them.
Next we looked at the function of our left and right brains and how to get into the Whole Brain Thinking state.
We were then re-minded that brain doesn’t equal mind and mind is not the brain. There may be states of mind and consciousness that exist outside our physical bodies and indeed our physical world …
… noting that these are just models to help us tap into light bulb moments.
Then we explored the importance of breath in the process of in-spiration and as a tool to quieten the conscious mind.
Then we looked at the importance of the waking dream-like state and the ability to program and analyse dreams in the context of creativity.
Finally, that our thoughts come in flavors and we can choose which ones we want to experience.
You now have a whole armory of tools at your disposal to generate unlimited light bulb moments.
The real skill is being able to manifest them into our physical reality so you capitalize on them.
Before moving to Part 2 of the book, The Science, this last illumination takes you on a simple mind journey around the flavors.
